Worship seems to be such a touchy subject for many…
It’s too quiet, it’s too loud, it’s too dark, it’s too light, it’s too much movement, it’s not enough…the list is endless.
Really worship is quite simple. It’s an act of surrender, a heart posture, it’s a dying to yourself to focus on one greater.
Romans 12:1 TPT
Beloved friends, what should be our proper response to God’s marvelous mercies? To surrender yourselves to God to be his sacred, living sacrifices. And live in holiness, experiencing all that delights his heart. For this becomes your genuine expression of worship.
You can be the loudest one in the room or the most refined and yet still not have a heart of worship and it’s all for nothing anyway.
We have to ask ourselves every time we enter an opportunity for worship, “Where is my heart at?” That is the most important question to be asked at any service, concert, car ride music jam, alone in your prayer closet… “Where is my heart at?”. Is my heart at a place of surrender that no matter what is currently surrounding me, I know that my God is bigger.
John 4:23-24 TPT From now on, worshiping the Father will not be a matter of the right place but with a right heart. For God is a Spirit, and he longs to have sincere worshipers who adore him in the realm of the Spirit and in truth.”
God is searching for those who long to be with Him, long to worship Him.
Not the next upcoming name in lights, but who truly love and adore Him just for who He is! He is searching for those who long to dwell in His presence, not just make a pit stop on Sunday. God is searching for those who are in the crowd searching for Him!
James 4:8 NLT
Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.
So, today we have to ask ourselves… where does our loyalty lie? Its a hard question for many to answer, because the pull of the world, friends, family, etc. is so strong… But the choice is always yours. “Where is your heart at?” In order to keep standing firm, in order to Not Be Moved… you have to decide the answer to that question.
Together lets #StandFirm and #NotBeMoved
