"Let your roots grow down into Him, and let your lives be built on Him…" Colossians 2:7

What’s With All the Noise?

How many times have you entered a season of life where you couldn’t focus…well, on anything really? It seemed like life was coming and going faster than you could process it. You were not being effective at any areas because you were so overcome by the… for lack of better words, the BUSY! šŸ™‚ It’s a trap of feeling like your accomplishing so much, yet accomplishing very little. This can be a very vicious cycle that can be so draining to you physically, mentally, and spiritually. How do we break this cycle?

First of all we have to look closely at our hearts and evaluate what must stay and what must go! It’s like decluttering your house; some things are obvious while others take a minute to realize it can’t stay. The funny thing is many people automatically think of all the “sinful/bad” things they probably should get rid of or stop participating in… which is completely accurate. But what about the things that are “good”? Sometimes we have to let go of things considered “good” simply because they aren’t for you right now. If your treading water in your life… learn to lighten the load so you can make strides again!

One thing I had to realize was that NOISE was a big factor. We let ourselves be open to so much between TV, music, social media, friends, family, co-workers, influencers, the list can go on and on… We really have to let the Lord show us where we are in filling our tank with so much outside influence; compared to how much He gets access to speak! (This doesn’t mean that you to have to be a recluse and not let anyone speak into you…but you need to evaluate who is and what kind of fruit they have in their own lives.)

See God is always speaking in the day to day things…but many times we are so overloaded and overwhelmed that we couldn’t hear Him if we tried. The daily grind of ‘Noise’ is drowning out the ONE VOICE we actually need to be listening too. This whole journey with the Lord is about a relationship with Him, yet we expect Him to keep trying to be a part of something that He has no room in.

Scripture shows us that we will be overcome and tired BUT those who put their TRUST in the Lord! These people will find a NEW STRENGTH, SOAR HIGH ABOVE, RUN & NOT GET TIRED, WALK & NEVER FAINT! This is why your relationship with the Lord is so important! You won’t make it without Him. You don’t have the strength or the endurance to run this race without Him closer to you than anything else! He should be the friend you text in a bad day; He should be the co worker you vent to about your job; He should be the counselor you go to when your looking for answers & peace! His entire plan is to see you SUCCEED in your journey on this earth!

So, heart check moment today… what noises do you need to shut down so you can hear Him clearly? Not all noise is bad, but is it pushing you forward? Or is it a constant drain on you & weighing you down? Keep your mind clear, your heart clear, and FOCUS on the ONLY ONE who can give us NEW STRENGTH to keep pressing forward!

-Love, Jess
